Northing RTK coverage, plainly stated

Coverage maps in this industry are usually a zoomed-out blob that makes everything look covered. Here is Northing RTK coverage in words, as of August 2026 — gaps included, because finding one from the cab is worse than reading about it here.

Covered

• Contiguous United States and Canada — the lower 48 and the populated Canadian belt.
• Most of Europe, including Ireland and the UK.
• Japan and South Korea.
• New Zealand.
• Brazil.
• Parts of Australia — New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, plus the areas around Adelaide, Brisbane, and Perth.

The gaps worth knowing about

• No Alaska, no Hawaii, no US offshore territories. “US coverage” means the contiguous states.
• Australia is partial in exactly the wrong places for broadacre work: much of the Western Australia wheatbelt and Queensland cropping country is outside the covered zones, even though the capital-city surrounds are in.
• Boundaries are polygons, not national borders — a property near the edge of a zone deserves a specific check, not an assumption.

Your location is checked against current coverage at checkout. If Northing RTK can’t serve your fields, we tell you before you pay, not after. Coverage expands over time, so a location declined once is worth rechecking.

Outside coverage?

The receiver still works everywhere on Earth. Northing Global — the free mode built into every receiver — has no coverage zones at all: its corrections come from the navigation satellites themselves, so it works on any field on the planet. Accuracy is reduced and convergence-based rather than instant (the honest comparison), but it’s genuinely useful for marking points and rough guidance. Only the RTK subscription is coverage-bound.
